Yes To Carrots: Scalp and Hair Mud Mask - A Review

The following is a review for the Yes To Carrots Scalp and Hair Mud Mask. I used this mask a total of three times, once for about 15 minutes, as recommended. The second time I left it in for approximately 45 minutes, and the third time upwards of almost three hours. The first time when I left it in my hair for 15 minutes, I massaged it into my hair and scalp as directed and after washing it out, my roots turned out greasy and my ends felt like barbie hair. NOT SO GOOD. I figured that maybe I didn't leave it in for long enough, so a couple days later i left it in for 45 minutes with the exact same results. After giving my hair about a week to recoop, i decided to give it one more try, leaving it in for almost two hours, and to my surprise.. Oily barbie hair again. There's not much else to be said about this product, because it can be summed up in one word.. Crap! Don't waste your money!

Hard Candy Series - Plumping Serum Volumizing Lip Gloss

Today's review is center around... Hard Candy's Plumping Serum Volumizing Lip Gloss. This gloss is my FAVORITE gloss of all the hard candy glosses I own! It smells great, and the plumping action is not too much AT all. It gives a slight little tingle to the lips but it's not like other plumpers that can make your lips feel like they're on fire or like you're kissing skewers. The only flaw I can find with these glosses is probably a manufacturing flaw that is there are some variations in color. Seen below are three glosses, the top two glosses are the same gloss! The top two are called Girl Next Door. See the difference?

The top two glosses are Girl Next Door.
The bottom gloss is Material Girl.

Material Girl
Material girl is hands down my favorite gloss by Hard Candy. Love love love the color and the texture.

Girl Next Door

Girl Next Door is also gorgeous, this sheer milky pink looks great over top almost everything, especially a nude lip.
The Verdict:
LOVE.
5 stars.
Get some.

Hard Candy Series - Lip Tattoo Lip Stain & Gloss

I'm back with another Hard Candy review for my series, Today I will be breaking down..

Hard Candy Lip Tattoo Lip Stain & Gloss
This particular shade is called #166 Fantasy and is a light pink- a little bit on the frosty side with a gold sheen and shimmer. This duo comes with a minty-flavored breath-freshening gloss which smells and tastes divine.
The gloss is actually pretty sticky, which I don't really mind that much but if it's something you dislike, I'd say skip the gloss and use one you DO like. But for the price.. I'd stay it's worth it.

The bottom line:
Would I repurchase? Yes.
Would I recommend them? Yes.
Are the shades unique? No.
Do they last a long time? Ehhh... Not as long as I'd like.

Give them a try and let me know what YOU think.

Hard Candy Series - Painted Lady Lipsticks.

Below is my collection of Hard Candy's Painted Lady Lipsticks! I will be showing a photo of the actual lipstick as well as a swatch on my lips. Sorry if the quality isn't the best, I am still getting to know my camera and am now convinced that I need a new one! Lol. At the end will be a review on the lipsticks in general as well as the ones I really recommend and the ones you can probably skip. Enjoy!
(l-r)
1. Starlet
2. Delusional
3. Rush Hour
1. Kitten
2. Cupid
3. Perfect 10
4. Fire Alarm
5. Knock-out
6. Flirt

Starlet

This color looks scary in the tube, coming off as a deep, dark vampy wine color. This color can also come off scary on the lips too if you're not into a bright lip. Swatched it is transformed into a lovely purple-based hot pink with small (almost non-existing) shimmer.
Here it is on the lips.
Mind you, the flash DOES wash it out a bit, but this is still pretty true to color.

Fire Alarm
Fire alarm is a super-pale pink nude with a creme finish. If you are a nude-lover this
lipstick is a MUST have. If you are NOT into nudes, this one will not be the one that changes your mind. It kinda has the tendency to make one look Well, dead.

Perfect 10
This one is excellent. It is a totally natural, wearable color that would be suitable for all skin tones and is flipping gorgeous. It is a neutral, leaning more on the pink side and for some skin tones might be considered a nude. On me, it is perfect. It is almost an exact match for my natural lip color with a lovely shiny finish and is a your-lips-but-better color.

Flirt

This one has to be my least favorite simply because it's one of those generic 80's-style pink frosty lipsticks. If you're into frosty pink lipstick I would definitely recommend it however because of the lovely sheen. But don't let that stop you, I am just not a fan of these colors and think they should all come standard with neon blue eyeshadow and some leg warmers. It is also the only lipstick of this line that I own without the lovely glossy finish.
Knock-Out
Knock-out is a muted bright pink with a cream finish, and a wonderful shine.would be a great
If some of you are a little hesitant to rock a bright lip this spring, this one would be a great one to start off with as it's bright without being too bright or neon. Looks like you've been sucking on a strawberry creme-sicle.(Which probably doesn't exist, just saying.)

Rush Hour
Whoooaaa Momma! This one is a real show-stopper. Bright, fun and a little crazy.. Rush Hour is a semi-purple-based pink with some shimmer. If you like a bright lip this is a must-have.

Cupid

Cupid is quite similar to Rush Hour with the only difference being that this one is a little more red-based than Ruch Hour. It being more red based makes it a little darker and truer to a more standard hot pink. It has lots of pink sparkle and is (like all of these lipsticks) very shiny.

Delusional
Delusional is a gorgeous berry lipstick with gold sparkle and makes your lips look super full! This color is perfect for the winter-spring transition and I would definitely recommend you go run and pick one up to see if you agree.

Kitten
One thing comes to mind when I see/wear this lipstick.. Ruby Red Slippers. It is a blue-based almost primary red with red glitter. This color can come off a little sheer and I would HIGHLY recommend that you pair it with a red lip liner. This color will try to run away on you. Other than that, a great staple red.

The Final Verdict:
It's love. These lipsticks are super creamy and moisturizing. The glossy finish is amazing, and there is a great color selection so you are sure to find one that you love. The formula is super moisturizing, but that does have an effect on the staying power. The staying power is not a deterring factor for me because I love to apply these lipsticks.
So.. Run, don't walk, and get your hands on some of these.

Must Haves:
Fire Alarm
Rush Hour
Delusional

What you can live without:
Flirt
Kitten

Also, since Cupid and Rush Hour are so similar.. I would pick one or the other.

So there it is! I hope you enjoyed and let me know if you've tried any of these lipsticks and what you think about them! And let me know if you have a favorite color!

What's next.

So right now I am working on a few reviews that I'm not quite ready to report on yet. One of them is the Maybelline Lip Perfection lipsticks, so that is in the works. In the mean time I think I will work with what I have in my current collection, including a collective view of a brand that I have quite a few products from. Here's a hint...(This picture was not taken by me.)

I will give a run-down of all the products that I have, as well as swatches and individual reviews. I will show my collection first, then after that I will do a series of posts by category (face, eyes, lips, and fail products) which will include the individual swatches and reviews. =)

Talk to you soon.

Picks For Spring - Face

Hello and welcome back! As you can probably gather by the title, these are my Spring Picks for Face! Now since foundations, powders and concealers are so individual.. I figured I'd just focus on color - blushes. What you are about to see are cream and powder blushes, as well as highlighters. Remember, coral will be a repeat offender this season and is especially beautiful on the cheeks. Coral is one of the most universally flattering shades on the planet, so give it a try!
Enjoy!
And as per usual, all items will be listed from left to right unless stated otherwise. =)

1. Jemma Kidd Stain, Flush, Blush Concentrate in #01 Pose*
2. Sonia Kashuk Creme Blush in #02 Rosey*
2. Sonia Kashuk Creme Blush in #03 Blossom
3. Pixi Duo Cheek Cream in #1 Natural Rose*
*Corals

And here are the swatches... They are in the same order as above.
A closer view of the first three blushes. One more cream blush and a few powders =)
The thrid blush in (A Floral Affair) I found at the 99 cents store, so there is a possibility
that it may be discontinued.

2. Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush in #125 Living Doll
3. Revlon Blush - A Floral Affair in #465 Pinking of You
4. Hard Candy So Baked Bronzer in #131 Hula Hula

And a not so awesome swatch of these, but I try.

Now for some highlighters... I tried to include a few that would look good on a variety of skin tones, the one that would have to be the most universally flattering would probably be the last (the brown palette). I also like to use a few of the shades in the cream highlighter wheels as blushes.1. Hard Candy Blush Crush Baked Blush in Honeymoon
2. Hard Candy Spotlighters All Over High Lighter in #136 Pink Palette
3.
Hard Candy Spotlighters All Over High Lighter in #135 Brown Palette
